Day three. We are playing random games. This is a new Steam mechanic — for the first two days of the festival you can play random games, after which the selection becomes personalized and Steam starts suggesting games similar to the ones you play. It is meant to help sell us more games and wishlists.

Base-building and survival without active combat.
We build various objects on the land, the objects generate gold, we pay the gold to the bank and survive. There’s synergy between tiles when you place them. For example, place a tractor on a tile — and to every tile in its row and column (in a cross) the tractor adds +1 water. The game is split into days; at the start of each day some event happens, we add a card to the deck, and then play that card.

The art is pleasant both in the main menu and in gameplay. Part of the interface feels outside the visual style — maybe it’s just unfinished.

It plays well for a while, then gets boring. I built up the basic 9 tiles. You can buy more land to place new objects and raise your gold income — and also to activate synergy effects with neighboring objects.

The execution is good, but you can feel there’s still a lot left unfinished.
